Dresdner Hof bicycle room

For the historic Dresdner Hof building in Leipzig, a listed Art Deco-style structure, studio.kejo developed a design concept for a bicycle room. The bike garage offers parking spaces for bicycles in double-decker parking systems as well as for cargo bikes with charging stations. Additionally, there is a battery charging cabinet for e-bikes, lockers for helmets and accessories, a repair station, and a small seating nook.

The standout feature of the bike garage is the wooden grid ceiling, which adds more structure to the high space. The design incorporates bold red tones that give the room a modern and contemporary atmosphere, while still preserving the original charm of the historic building. The goal was to seamlessly integrate the modern element of a bike garage into the ambiance of the Dresdner Hof, ensuring the design respects the historical character while introducing fresh accents.
